Explorations: Frosty Mornings & Puppies

Oh yes, you all thought you could get away without a full post dedicated to my little prince Master Manolo Gracey Panda XVI, didn’t you? Too bad! Well, too half bad anyways. I’m so pumped to share with you all that I’ll be starting a new series each month: Photo Exploration! …Or something like that. Basically, the haps is that once a month I’ll be exploring an area that is just a jump, skip, and a hop away from my driveway and sharing the photos with you. Y’all may have been there before or you may have never even heard of it but there will be pretty pictures (of course), wonderful exploration, and probably some delish dining experiences. This month the exploration takes place close to home: my backyard and dog, Manolo. I know, so crazy – unexpected – magical! Please hold all applause till the end of the post. 😉 But hey, any journey begins at home, doesn’t it?

Just a few days after Christmas Eve (which was a ridiculous 70 degrees) we had a frost! I realize that may be an odd thing to get excited about but good golly do I love cold weather when it brings frost bitten nature. Our backyard was a veritable ice factory. The wood we had set out to dry for a fire was suddenly unavailable for burning.

As I was using my 50mm (not an awesome macro lens) I grabbed this closeup with my iPhone! Fuzzy frosty happiness on that tree log, y’all.

And now, for the best part of the post: Manolo sleeping funny! AKA time to “explore” how freaking cute our dog is. Look at those terribly frightening teeth! As he snores loudly!

See? Even the Yeti, Mr. Bumble, was super scared. Poor dear.

But as with any puppy, he’s very shortly snoring once again.

Up! And then down. With an equally adorable tongue.

I’m gonna be honest – I’m not sorry about all the photos of this ridiculously photogenic dog with a name longer than he is. We’re thick into housetraining now and, well, he does great when he’s asleep! But he is a boy and he does indeed like to pee…everywhere. He’ll grow out of it. I hope 😛

I hope you enjoyed this rather quick post! I thought it would be nice for once a month (at least) to have a post where y’all can get some tips (coming in future posts, obviously I can’t direct you on where to eat at my house other than the kitchen) and look at pretty photos and not be overloaded with words. As you may be when you read this page. We all need a chance to take a break and just look at the scenery. And maybe keep up with our favorite bloggers 😉

Wishing you puppy snores and frosted nature,

Shantelle
